#2 bus from Hamra to Ashrafieh

I love taking the bus. The traffic is always grueling, but I appreciate the time staring out the window watching Beirut go by -- or watching my fellow passengers. And in general, it's better than sitting in a service on the ring road for nearly an hour.

My favorite part of the trip is the murals on the Maqasid school near the Druze Community building -- murals of Beirut at the turn of the century, before the war, etc. There is also a big mural of the Dome of the Rock.

The bus goes all the way to Antelias, but I get off in Ashrafieh in front of Spinneys and walk the rest of the way home.
